About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

How long is the processing of dependent visa?

When my husband accepted his job there his employer said that he could bring his family. But we opted to stay so he could test the water first. After 4 mos, he asked if he could get us-wife and 1 yr 8 mo old baby-his employer said that he should atleast be 6 months there. Now he's more than 6 months in the company he is working for. His employer said that our visa is already in the process. But how long should we wait?
Thanks in advance!

In fact, your husband's employer has to apply for "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" (previousely called visa notification letter) for you, without it, you can't apply for dependent visa. It takes about a week. You have to ask your husband to enquire the staff of his company who are in charge of the foreign affairs.

The company can't apply for a dependent visa for you, it can only get Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" for you.

Once you get, you can begin to apply for dependent visa in the Philippines.

Thank you for you help Kevin. So it doesn't take too long to get the needed document. It seems there is a problem with his boss after all.
