Can I apply for a work (Z) visa while on a tourist (L) visa?

You can apply for a work visa even if you hold a valid L visa. But be note that once your China work Z visa is issued, your L visa expires automaticly.0

It is also ok to apply for a work visa if your tourist visa is expiring soon or it has already expired.0
