Is it possible to hire a car with a driver (taxi?) to do it all in one day? Where is the best place to look for a car and a driver in the city? How much it might cost?

It's almost impossible to tour all these places in just one day. You can hire the taxi with a driver at Datong Railway Station. About rmb400 per day around Daotong and rmb500-600 if the tour extends to Mt.Wutai.
