is there a place to temporarily store luggage at the shanghai hongqiao train station?

I do not want to carry my luggage and want to store it at the station while a make a day trip on the bullet train. When I return, I will pick up the luggage and travel to Pudong airport. Does the MagLev fast train have a connection at Hongqiao train station also? Thank you.

Yes, there is luggage-left service in Hongqiao Railway Station. As to its specific location, you can ask for the train station staff to help you find it.  The Maglev train only travels between Pudong airport and Longyang Road station.  From Hongqiao railway station, you can take subway line 2 to Longyang road and then take the Maglev train to Pudong airport.
