About:Chinese Embassy in India

Would I need a Chineese visa if I am in transit(Shanghai) and not leaving the airport?

Travelling Eastern Chineese Airlines to Osaka.

If your stopover in Shanghai is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport, then no visa is required.
