Wolong keeps closed after the earthquate and now used as a base for research and study, but open to the public. It is difficult to find a job there, I think.

Hi there,
After the earthquake happened in 2008, the Wolong Reserve has been closed to the public and moved to Yaan City which is only 2 hours driving from Chengdu. You could find some information on their website, but unfortunately they don’t have English translation.www.chinawolong.com.
Or maybe you could apply to be a volunteer at Chengdu Panda Base. That must be easier for you. http://www.panda.org.cn/

I volunteered (had to pay for it) at Bifengxia Panda Research Center which is about 2 hours outside of Chengdu and near as someone said Ya'an city, the road from Ya'an to Bifengixa is breathtaking by the way.

Search for panda volunteering on google and a number of companies offer opportunities there however it may pay to get in touch with the center yourself as you might be able to do it cheaper that way. Good luck its a great experience being so close to these animals and learning more about them. Duties will include cleaning, feeding, observing the panda's (basic level)
