I'm not clear if there was any arguments or not. But the Wall should be higher than a human, to protect the soliders from being injured by arrows. About the width, it at least can allow three horses to walk shoulder by shoulder, for the general and his guards to ride on it. Of course, there are some sections the height and width are decided by the landform.
