what kind visa shall we apply for if we stop over beijing for 31 hours in our way back

Question

From our tour in Rome, we take Air China in going back to Manila on Sept 28. But Air China connecting flight from Beijing to Manila is more than one day stay in Beijing. So we stay in Beijing from September 29 from 1:10 PM (arrival time from Rome) and fly back to Manila on September 30 departing at 8:05 PM. Can we go out of Beijing airport to see the city for about 4 hours before we go back to airport for our flight back to Manila? Thank you.

You need to apply for a China Transit Visa (G visa) for the stopover in Beijing for 31 hours. Then you can go out of Beijing airport to see the city for about 4 hours before you go to the airport to catch flight.
