About:China Visa Application in USA

can i get a tourist visa to china if i have an old drug charge

it was for marijuana about ten years ago

Don' t worry, you can try to apply for a China tourist visa from Chinese embassy or consulate where you live. Check the requirements first from this website and fill Criminal Record with NO to the application form. Probably, no one will check it if you meet all other requirement for tourist visa application, also, you can use express service for visa processing.
