Do I need a transit visa if I travel to Taipei via Shanghai?

I'm travelling from Frankfurt to Taipei (Taiwan) via Shanghai. As Polish citizen, I do not need a visa to Taiwan. Do I need a transit visa for Shanghai and Pekin (return flight)?

You are not required visa if you will stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours. When you return from Frankfurt via Beijing, no visa is required also if your transit in Beijing is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.
