Considering the conditions of Sri Lanka as well as the purpose and status of Sri Lanka nationals' past visits to Mainland China, the visa rule for applicants of Sri Lanka is strict. If you come to China for business, conference or lecture, you should have an offcial invitation letter called "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" (previousely it is called visa notice). Without it, it is impossible for you to get a business visa to China.

Your sponsor should go to the local Foreign Affairs Office to apply for the visa notice.
