How to get to Badaling Great Wall from Beijing Norlin Hotel, and then to Summer Palace?

Hello. I will be staying at Beijing Norlin Hotel. How can I get to Badaling Great Wall from the hotel, by subway/train. And how many minutes? From Badaling Great Wall, how can I get to Summer Palace, and how many minutes also? If I am constrained by funds and time, is it really advisable to go to those places through subway/train? Or should I avail a tour package for that? Thanks. - Christian (from the Philippines)

It will be a challenge for you to visit these two places on your own by public transportation. If possible, it is suggested that you join in a one-day tour package, so time will be saved on transportation transfer.

If you would like to travel on your own, you could take a bus or taxi to Changchunjie station and then transfer to subway Line 2 to Jishuitan station. Exit from the subway, you could walk for about 10 minutes to Deshengmen bus terminus and take bus 919 to Badaling in one hour.

After that, you should take the bus back to Deshengmen and then take subway Lin2 to Xizhimen, transfer to Subway Line 4 to the Summer Palace.
