About:China Consulate in Houston

renew Chinese passport

Does the office in Houston renew Chinese passports? My wife's passport expired in Febuary and we would like to renew it if possible. We live about four hours away from Houston so I hate to make the drive if we can not renew the passport at this office. Please respond as this is the third request I have made.

Yes, China Consulate in Houston can renew Chinese passport. Your wife has to submit the application in person, the mailed application is not accepted. No appointment is required.

Please bring the below documents:
1. fill in Chinese passport application photo
2. two recent passport photos
3. original Chinese passport and its photocopies
4. original document and its copy to prove her legal status in USA, such as Green Card, I-20 form, long-term visa, residence permit, etc.

it takes 1 month for the processing.

Hi, first, make an online appointment for the application.
Prepare your passport and its copy, a completed application form, and 4 passport-style photos, Chinese ID card, residence permit in the US, an introduction letter as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary, and then submit the application to the embassy or the consulate where you resides.
