You need to apply for a China business visa in advance through Chinese embassy or consulate over your area of residence. Besause visa on arrival is not available in most cases. For business visa application, a visa notification form from relevant Chinese Authorities or an invitation letter from relevant Chinese governmental departments, relevant companies, business entities or non-profit governmental organizations or a letter from the host company is required. If you don't have one, you can just apply for a tourist visa instead, and make sure do not mention business purpose to the application form.
