Do I need a visa to go to Beijing or I can use "Home Return Permit Card"

I was immigrated from HK. I am holding Canadian Passport now, i also have a "Home Return Permit Card" as well. I plan to go to HK and will pass through Beijing, and I would like to tour in Beijing for ten days and then go to HK. Should I need to apply for a visa to enter Beijing or I can use my "Home Return Permit Card" entering Beijing. Thank you

Officially speaking, if you have not made a "declaration of change of nationality" at the Immigration Department of Hong Kong, you are regarded by the PRC authority as PRC citizens. In this case, you can use your home-visit permit to enter mainland China instead of your passport.
