About:China Train

Why can't I book a train from certain stops?

For example, I want to book a train from Jishou to Yingtan (#K1374/K1375), and tickets are not available to book. However, I can book from Huaihua to Yingtan on the same exact train, which passes through Jishou. Any idea why? Alternatively, can I book the ticket from Huaihua to Yingtan and just get on at Jishou?

I'm having the same exact problem trying to book a train from Liuzhou to Huaihua, on train #1474.

I'd like to book the trains in advance to be sure to get a soft sleeper since they are long rides! Thanks in advance to anyone who answers!

Hi, from Jishou to Yingtan, the train K1374/K1375 is pass-by train whose starting station is Huaihua. And the trains from Liuzhou to Huaihua are also all pass-by trains. Since the website only accepts train tickets bookings whose departure station is also the trains' starting station, pass-by trains could not be booked online. It is better for you to purchase the tickets at local train stations in advance.

Mr. Wood, thank you very much for the response. I'm concerned that I will arrive in Liuzhou by bus just 2 hours before I'd like to catch the train to Huaihua, so I will only be able to buy tickets 2 hours in advance at the local station. Is this possible to still get a sleeper car?
