About:China Visa

How can I bring my girlfriend from Philippines to China? I work in China on a residence permit.

I am American, teaching in China on a residence permit. I want to marry a girl from Philippines, so how does it work? Can I bring her here to be with me? She has a valid Philippine passport. Does my University have to invite her? I want to bring her first just to visit, then later we will get married and I hope we can live here in China together. Thanks for your help!

if first for a visit, she can apply for a tourist visa to China by herself. NO invitation letter is needed in this case. After you get married, she can apply for a Z visa accompanying your residence permit in China, and this time, she needs documents from your school and related foreign affairs office, as well as copies of your marriage license, passport and residence permit.
