In China, it is free of charge for child under 1.2 meters tall to take trian if he/she shares a sleeper or a seat with the adult. Child with the height of 1.2-1.5 meters needs to buy half-price ticket. Anyway, you may consult the staff at the railway station for details when purchasing the ticket.
