Travelling from Hong Kong to Chengdu

What is the best (and cheapest) way of travelling from Hong Kong to Chengdu? Flights seem very expensive but I cannot find any direct trains. Thank you!

Taking flight is really the best way from HK to Chengdu. You can purchase the air ticket in advance to try to get it in a discount price.
There is no direct train between them. If you want to take train, you can take train to Guangzhou first and then take train from Guangzhou to Chengdu.
