How long will it take on the bus or train?Going this weekend, kindly advise accomodation and   places to visit for first time travelling there.

There is a bus from Suzhou South Long-distance Bus Station to Huangshan. It departs at 05:40 and takes about 5 hours.  Well, there are two trains from Suzhou to Huangzhou. The departure time is 13:41 and 18:59.  The train journey is about 11-12 hours. Tiandu International Hotel, Huangshan is a nice 4 star hotel in the city center with reasonable price. You can stay there. Travelling to Huangshan, you should not miss the Yellow Mountain, Tunxi Ancient Street and Xidi and Hongcun Ancient Villages .
