what should i do if i want to get a new job after my contract?

my contract will end this july as well as my visa. i'm planning to work with another company in another city. the new company says i need to process the renewal of my Z visa. what are the steps in visa renewal that i need to accomplish and where can i process it?

you need to get following two documents: a letter of release (stamped with the company chop) from your current employer (listed on your Alien Employment Permit, a brown booklet) and a letter of recommendation. Then, go to your new employer with your visa, permit, documents and the letter of release. With all these your new employer can help you renew Z visa and Residence Permit at PSB without leaving China mainland.
