Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs Travel Tips, Beijing

I plan to visit Mutianyu and Ming Tombs in one day (04/07/2011).
1) What is the recommended time to leave Dongzhimen?
2) How long should i stay in Mutianyu ?
3) How long does a bus and number take from Mutianyu station to Ming Tombs?
4) I f there is no public transportation, direct, how much it costs to take a taxi?
5) At what time do the Ming Tombs.

1. Tourism Bus No.936 runs on every one hour between 07:00 and 15:00 from Dongzhimen Outer to Mutianyu Great Wall. I advise you take the fisrt bus, considering you will go to visit Ming Tombs later.
2. I think 3-4 hours are ok. It all depends on you.
3. Take bus no. 936 branch from Mutianyu to Niulanshan Daokou, chaneg to bus no. 947 to Changping dongguan, again change to bus no. 314 to Dingling of the Ming Tombs. It takes about 2-2.5 hours.
4. I;m afraid it;s hard to take ataxi from Mutianyu to Ming tombs. If you are lucky to take a taxi, it will cost at least CNY300, I think.
5. Ming Tombs is open from 8:30 to 17:30.
