About:China Transit Visa

Transit through Guangzhou

I hold Australian passport and my friend has Taiwanese passport. We fly from Melbourne to Taipei via Guangzhou. Our stop over in Guangzhou is 5-7 hours and we will not leave the airport. Do either of us need a visa for the stop over in Guangzhou?

Your friend needs an Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau. If she/he do not have this, she/he can apply for a China Travel Document instead if living abroad.
