About transfer from domestic to international at Shanghai Pudong Airport

May 27, 2011
Dear Sir, I plan to book a flight from Chongqing to Pudong, and connecting with Air Canada departing 5.10pm Terminal 2. Two possible flights: (1) China Eastern arriving at 2.50pm T1, and (2) Air China arriving at 4.05pm T2. Since Air China is a star alliance, naturally, if possible I would prefer Air China. But please advise, and much appreciated.

Thanks. From Mr. Ed Millar

Well, you'd better arrive at Pudong Airport earlier so that you will have enough time for customs and immigration here. China Eastern should be better.

Option (1) is better. Option (2) is too tight and often domestic flights are delayed. T1 and T2 are connected by long passageway with "walk-alator". Plan for maybe about 10-15mins to walk between terminals.
