about train tickets reservation

Hello I would like to know about train ticket. Can I purchase Beijing to Dalian ticket (no reservation--purchase directly from Beijing station) or I just have to reserve ticket?

Of course, you could purchase the train tickets directly at the train station. But it is better to buy them around 10 days in advance as tickets are always under great demand.
