Changsha Schools

Hello everyone, I have previously looked at some of the answers about education in Changsha for expat kids but many posts are quite dated. So just want some current info please.

Me and my husband (from the Uk)have been offered a job at the Hunan finance and economics university for sept, and I want to know if the two schools I keep hearing about have any existing expat kids enrolled. The schools I have heard about are Lushan and Tongshenghu. Are these schools wuite far from the university? I have 2 children one is 9 and one is 3. So am very anxious, I have been in another city in China for the past year and the education thing has been a real problem for my older son, and am having to consider sending him back to the UK to live with family, but then dont want to separate him from us. I have heard of the Changsha WES school, but wow, its too expensive.

Also, is the Hunan finance and economics a good university? and is it the same university as Hunan University?

Thanks

Welcome to Changsha! I heared about Tonghenghu school, there are few foreign kids. Its huge, but has the best reputation in Changsha, but from there it is a bit far to city (look in google map) and of course, it is very chinese, but good focus on English. We live there, and we like it, because of good air and green area. For 3 years old, I can recomend the "apple tree kindergarden" next Golden eagle. It is chinese, but for wealthy kids. They learn a lot there, it is amazing, what even 3 years old can do there. My kids were there both, before opening of WES.

Dear Ms Britta,

Thank you so much for your answer, I will definitely give apple tree kindergarten a call, sorry to bother you again but do you have a contact number for me so that I can give them a call. I would love to send my older son to Wes but perhaps need to speak to them to find out about the fees exactly. Is the Wes school in the main city or is that also far out?
Thank you again for your answer.
