CHINA VISA APPLICATION CONDITIONS

I am a New Zealand citizen based in Manila. Cebu Pacific airlines are offerring low fares to go to Beijing and I would like to go to Beijing for a long weekend. Go ON Friday morning and return on Monday night and stay at a hotel in Beijing. Do I need a travel itinerary prepared by a Chinese travel agent for this or can I just book the flight and the hotel and present these as evidence of travel?

It depends, but I think it is ok for you to get a China tourist visa without travel itinerary from a travel agency. Just present your air ticket and hotel reservation together with your visa application.
