How long does it it take to get the letter of invitation for China work visa?

I am waiting for my letter of invitation and one other piece of paper so I can process my "z" visa. How long does it take for my recruiter to get the required documents? I have been told the total time is 4 weeks.

Yes, that is right, the invitation letter and work permit processing takes about one month from related offices.

If I am in the third week of processing my letter of invitation and work permit to obtain a "z" visa....if there is a problem in the processing would I have been notified in the first or second week? Problem : meaning my application.

Mr.scott, If there is some problem for your application of invitation letter and work permit, the related Chinese government offices won't notify you or your employer, they just deny the application, when your employer go to collect the invitation letter or work permit, he/she will know the result. Please don't worry, it's the problem of your employer who can find some solution to solve the problem, you can't do nothing, just wait for the issuance of the two documents.
