About:National Holidays in China

What dates are the national holidays in China in October?

I am arriving in Beijing on the 2nd of October 2011 and plan to do some walking on the wall and travel to Xian to see the warriors. What should I expect in the way of crowds at this time of the year and which days should I avoid popular destinations like these?
Thank you

Oct. 1 - 7 is the National Day Holidays in China. I advise you book the tour through a China travel service in advance, so that your accommodation and transportation will be ok. Usually, it is too much crowded on the buses, trains, planes on Sep. 30, Oct. 1, Oct. 6 and Oct. 7.. For popular destinations, I think it will me more crowded from Oct. 2-6.
