It's said that it's hard to apply Shenzhen on arrival visa now only if you have had China visa on your passport and air ticket to exit China. I advise you apply for a China visa from the China Embassy in your country before your departure. There are ferries from Shenzhen Shekou Port to HK Macau Ferry Terminal daily.

You could not apply for visa on arrival if you would like to fly into Shenzhen from Indonesia directly. Usually, this kind of visa is issued to travelers at Luohu Border who will come into Shenzhen via Hong Kong. What's more, the visa is only valid in the Speical Economic Zone of Shenzhen, and may be refused for applicants during holidays or travel peak time. So, it is better that you get a valid China visa to enter into Shenzhen before leaving.

At Shenzhen Shekou Airport, you could take a ferry to Macau directly in one hour. It is not called Star Ferry, which is a special in Hong Kong.
