L Visa as a Canadian Citizen in Germany
Hello,
I am stuck in a problem and I am wondering if someone knows a solution.
My daughter (born in China and left with a Exit/Entry Permit) and I are Canadian Citizens, her mother is Chinese. This April my daughter and I traveled to Germany to visit some friends and relatives. Now that I need to return to work in China and also to see my chinese wife again we planned to apply for an L visa (visiting family) for my daughter (15 months old). I still have a visa and we thought it would be easy to do.
However the visa agency is telling us we need a residence permit for my daughter in Germany before we can apply for her Visa. But as Canadian citizens we can stay for 90 days!! in Germany without this, so we of course never applied for it and also never planned for it.
We have a her chinese birth certificate and a letter of her mother with us that she is allowed to travel alone with me (my wife could not join us due to her work).
Now I do not really want to spend the money or the time to fly 6000km's to Canada to apply for her visa there. Has anyoen gone through anthing like this or any advice on how to solve this. HELP IS APPRECIATED.
