About:Bingling Temple

About accomodation nearby Bingling Thousand Buddha Caves

It says that a one way trip is 4-5 hours from Lanzhou; is there accommodation available nearby the caves? Obviously it's not possible to travel there and back,as well as see the caves all in one day. What do travelers normally do?

No hotels near Bingling caves, you have to take a ship back to Liujiaxia or Yongjing County to Stay over night.

I have done the trip in a day from Lanzhou, however we did hire a taxi to take us there and back from Lanzhou (make sure you get a price first and don't forget to haggle). Take the taxi driver with you on the (we took a speed boat once the bloody things got started) boat to the caves and don't forget to go further back beyond the caves as there is also a buddist retreat further up the valley. Well worth spending the day but it is advisable to take an English speaking guide.

I worked in Lanzhou for a year as an English teacher so knew my way around.
