Are there accommodation and restaurants right the mountains of the Yellow Mountains? That is, is it possible to spend overnight in the mountains?

Beihai Hotel is a good choice. It is located in the Yellow Mountains and you can stay there overnight.

Beihai is for staying in the Y.M. the perfect place. Food is not outstanding but reasonable priced and enough choice. You need 2 or more days to explore these impressive mountain walks and great sceneries. Be aware that some parts are realyy strengthening and by cloudy or rainy weather slippery
