Moving to Beijing

We are moving to Beijing in August and would like to know the best area to live in. My partner will work in Western Academy of Beijing and I will study in BJTU. Where is the best location to live in just in the middle of both schools? We are looking at Dongzhimen area, is it convinient to go places from there? We are also planning on getting bikes for ourselves.
