hello i will be flying on china eastern to from lax to can connecting in pvg.

Question

Hello I will be flying on China Eastern to from LAX to CAN connecting in PVG.  This is my first time at this airport so I was wondering what is the procedure from switching from international to domestic with the same airline? I have plenty of time between flights, so I am more interested in the process of the transfer.  Rechecking? Will it be similar to LAX in some ways?

After arriving in the CIQ (China Inspection & Quarantine) Area and being checked, head for the transfer hall to handle check-in and enter the concourse of departure.
