this is to inquire if there are taxi's we could hire from dongzhimen to great wall badaling and vice versa for the day? if yes, how much do they charge?

Yes, you can hire taxi there, but it would be very expensive, about hundreds yuan. I suggest you take a taxi to Deshengmen and then take bus 919 to get to the Badaling Great Wall.
