Hi, I will be traveling to Chengdu in Sep'11 and was currently planning a trip to Lhasa. May I know whether there will be train leaving Chengdu to Lhasa on 7 Sep'11 or 8 Sep'11? Next, may I know where can get the permit to go Tibet and how much is the permit?

There is one train T22/T23 running from Chengdu to Lhasa daily. And to visit Lhasa, the Tibet Permit is a must. Normally, you can get it through some travel agencies if you book the tour with them. As for the charges, you can consult them directly. Here are some itineraries in Lhasa for your reference: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/tibet/
