Hello, i am travelling to China on the 24/7/2011 with my three sons 12,10 & 8. We will be staying with my nephew first who is studying in Fudan University,Shanghai.Then we are going to Beijing, Xi'an and Hong Kong(staying in hotels). What documentation do i need to bring with me to apply for visas.How far in advance do I need to apply? Louise Becker

You need to bring the hotel bookings in Beijing, Xian and Hong Kong for applying visa. You can apply for visa in June or early July.
