About:Star Ferry

Hi Dear James,

I will be in Tsim Sha Tsui on Saturday, 14th May, 2011 after half day Hong Kong City Tour. After shopping in Tsim Sha Tsui would like to visit the Victoria Peak in the evening about 5.30 p.m. Please advise how to take MTR to the Victoria Peak and after the visit, back from Victoria Peak to Stanford Hotel, Mongkok. Please also advise the MTR fare as well as the peak tram fare.

On Sunday, 15th May, 2011, after a full day Macau City Tour upon returning to Hong Kong by ferry at 6.00 p.m., after dinner we would like to visit the Avenue of Stars to see the Symphony of Lights at the Victoria Harbour. Please advise how do we get to the Avenue of Stars and return to hotel after this.

Lastly, on our last day in Hong Kong, Monday, 16th May, 2011, we wish to visit Lantau Island. Please also advise us how do we get to Lantau Island from Stanford Hotel, Mongkok. Please advise us which MTR to take and from which station and the MTR fare and also the time we have to be back to the hotel for transfer to the airport for our flight back to Kuala Lumpur ETD HK 9.05 p.m.

Looking forward to your early reply.

Thank you.

You can take HK MTR tsuen wan line from TST to Central for HKD8.5, transfer to bus no. 15c to garden road peak tram station for HKD3.2 to take the tram to victoria peak. The peak tram fare is HKD65 for a round way and HKD53 for a single way. Then take bus no. 15 back to central to take tsuen wan line to Mong Kong for HKD10.5, and then walk to your hotel.
It only takes about 20 minutes' walking from Stanford Hotel to Avenue of star and victoria harbour.
You can take Hk MTR tsuen wan line from Mong kok to Lai King for HKD6.0, transfer to tung chung line to the terminal for HKD12.5 where is the Lantau Island. I advise you leave for your hotel from Lautau island around 5.0 pm.

Hi Mr. Hank,

On our return from Macau from the ferry terminal in Hong Kong, how do we get to to the Star Avenue to see the Symphony of Lights at the Victoria Harbour?

Please advise the means of transport to get there and also the transport fare as well as how to get back to the Stanford Hotel, Mongkok after the display of lights.

On the last day in Hong Kong i.e. on the 16th May, 2011, we might want to go to Ocean Park and return to our hotel, Stanford, Mongkok ny 5.30 p.m. for transfer to airport to return to Kuala Lumpur via flight ETD 9.05 p.m.

Please also advise how to get to Ocean Park and the entrance fees and transport fees involved or alternatively can we join a local tour from the hotel to and fro?

Thanks and regards,
Joyce Ong

Avenue of star is walkable from China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. If you go back from Macau to HK-Macau Ferry terminal in Shueng Wan, suggest you take MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui first and then walk to the avenue of Stars. You can walk to New World Center bus stop and take bus 8 to HO MAN TIN STREET. Then walk forward to the crossing of Wylie Road and Waterloo Road. Turn right to find Soy Street. Your hotel is there. The bus fare is 4.4HKD. To the Ocean Park, you can also take that bus to New World Center first and then change to bus 973 to Ocean Park. The other option is to take MTR from the nearest station to Admiralty and then change to bus 629 to the Ocean Park. Vice Versa. It just takes a few minutes to walk from your hotel to the MTR station.
