Would love to go to Mt.Emei to see the Big Buddha..can anyone tell me how to get there from city centre?By bus or by taxi? how long is the journey and how much is the entrance fee? is it OK if i go there by myself or should i hire a tour guide? Thank u~! i only have 2 nights to spend in chengdu

You can take a bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen bus station to Emeishan City, which takes about 2.5 hours and costs about CNy45 per person. Then take a taxi to Baoguo Temple from the bus station. The Entrance fee of Mt. Emei is CNY150 in peak seasn (Jan. 15 to Dec. 14) and CNY90 in low season (Dec. 15 to Jan. 14). If it is your first time travel to Chengdu, I advise you hire a guide.
