About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Hello,

I am booked to travel from Melbourne on 3 May 2011 to China on a tour. I live in the country and will only be in Melbourne for 2 working days before my plane departs - Friday 29 April & Monday 2 May. Can I be sure to get a single entry Tourist visa in person on one of those days if I have all the correct documentation? If not, how can I be sure to get the visa when I don't live near an Embassy or consulate? Thank you

Bev

Yes, you can try to apply for rush service of 1-2 working days processing, but you need to pay extra fee. You have to pay extra AUD 93.5 for the rush service of CVASC in Melbourne, extra AUD 50 for the rush service of China Consulate in Melbourne, the fee for single entry visa is AUD 40 , the total fee is AUD 183.5. The consulates doesn't accept your application, so you have to submit visa application to CVASC in Melbourne.

The other option is to mail your application to CVASC in Melbourne now. You can find useful information from its website of CVASC

Hello Mrs Vivian,
Thank you for the reply. I have decided to get a friend in Melbourne to lodge my application at the visa centre. She will bring the fully completed and signed visa application form (with passport photo affixed), a bank cheque for $183.50 for the rush service and my passport.

Is this all the documentation that is required? Thank you for your help.

To apply for a China visa, your passport with at least 6-month validity and at least 2 blank visa pages and one photocopy of its photo page; If you have been granted Chinese visa(s) before, copies of recent Chinese visa with entry record is required. But if you will visit China for the first time, you should provide copy of photo page of your current passport as well as other ID.
Please make an appointment first at CVASC before going.
