Hi I'm planning to travel from Beijing to Hong kong on the 13th of May and was wondering if I can book a luxury soft sleeper berth for just one person?

Of course, you can. The train T97B departing from Beijing west train station is operating on odd-numbered days in May, 2011. And you would better arrange the tickets online or at the train stations in advance.
