I am planning to go Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan from Xian by train, which station/city I should stop at and is the easiest to reach - Guangyuang or Mianyang?

You could take train to Guangyuan first and then take a bus to Jiuzhaigou. If reach Mianyang first, it will take longer time. By flight, you can reach Chengdu first and then take a flight to Jiuzhaigou.
