I want to travel to india and I have found a cheap airfare with china eastern airline . I will be in transit and leave the airport. i will have 25 hrs stay hotel in shanghai china .  Do I need a visa for this ? If yes, how much will it cost me ??

You don't need a visa for this transit at Shanghai Pudong Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, Australians can stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours transit without a visa if they hold valid passports, final destination tickets and have booked seats, valid visa to destination countries (except for visa exemption to the destination)
