My son, 15 years old, will visit his grandparents in Chengdu this summer by himself. He will fly from Baltimore to Beijing, then from Beijing to Chengdu (we haven't bought the ticket yet, but most likely he will take Air China). His Chinese is very poor. Can you tell us how to make the transfer in Beijing? Does he need to take shuttle bus to go to different terminal?

Firstly, the Beijing Capital Airport has connected to international level already. There are so many foreigners arriving here everyday, so it will also be easy for your son. All of the directions and signs are clear, and in English too. BTW, if you use the same airline companies, such as Air China, no need to transfer between terminals. To make sure it, you could ask for details when you purchase the ticket. As for the transfer in T3, I think u could refer to https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/beijing/capital-airport-transfer.htm
