About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

My husband is Chinese from China, I am Vietnamese. Both of us has marriage register under Malaysian Registration Department (in Putra Jaya). We are going to have baby in April. Can my baby apply for Chinese passport? And how is procedure? After the baby obtained the passport, should I need to apply dependent's visa for baby? Currently I have work permit in Malaysia. Thank you.

If your baby will be born in China, he/she can be a Chinese citizen and is eligible to apply a Chinese passport. With the Chinese passport, he/she needs to apply for a visa to accompany yours as dependent in Malaysia.

Thank you very much for your reply. The thing here is that my baby will be born in Malaysia in this April. Is he entitled to be Chinese citizen? And can we apply for his Chinese passport through Chinese Embassy in Malaysia?

Mr.Phuong, if you settle down for long outside of China, your baby is not entitled to be a Chinese citizen. And for details, you'd better consult a lawyer.
