About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Ms Helper,

I am very confused now. it was you told me that i have to come to Canberra to sign the Deceleration form for not joining Australian nationality in front of embassy officials. and last reply you said I do NOT have to come any more and i can just send it in??

I am a bit confused. please confirm... Thank you!

Mr.Qiao zhou, first, please pay attention to the consular districts of China embassy/consulates in Australia, if you live in Australian Capital Territory (Canberra District), South Australia, North Territory, you should apply for a new Chinese passport at Embassy in Canberra.

It's true that Chinese citizens living in South Australia, North Territory can apply for new Chinese passport by mailing, however, it is very complex. It is advisable to submit application in person.

I think you can read Chinese, then you can also look through the official website of China embassy in Canberra in Chinese Version, you can find the information about Chinese passport application
