About:

Hi,

We are planning to visit Beijing at the end of march for a few days and on to Shanghai. Not sure how long does it takes on a train to Shanghai. I'm reading that the high speed train which takes 4 hours does not start operations until mid June of 2011. This this true?
If not in operations how long does it takes otherwise and how much or where can I find the fares.

thanks

The high speed train will start to operate till 2012. The bullet train (D-train) is available from Beijing to Shanghai. It takes about 10 hours and cost CNY409/first class seat and CNY327/second class seat. You can find it here: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/ .
