Hi!We will be traveling to beijing on 10-14 March 2010. I understand that it will still be winter at that time, are the tourist spots like the great wall, summer palace, and beijing zoo open during this time? We will also be staying at days inn forbidden city. Is this hotel walking distance from Tianamen square, forbidden city, and temple of heaven?How much would it cost if we rent a taxi for our group to go to great wall, sacred way, and summer palace?Thanks!

The great wall, summer palace, and beijing zoo are oepn then. You are right that days inn forbidden city is very nera to Tiananmen square, forbidden city and temple of heaven. If you will visit the great wall, summer palace and sacred way in the same day, it's clever to rent a car, which costs CNY500-1500 per day. By the way, language will be a big problem if you rent a car from a car rent agency, My opinion is to rent a car through a travel company.
