About:Hohhot Transportation

Is it possible to fly from Lhasa to Hohhot? What are the other alternatives to go from Lhasa to Hohhot and do I need a special permit? Can I book the flight myself? Or, do I need to do it by Travel Group if I am already in Lhasa? We plan on being in Lhasa in July and would like to go from there to Hohhot. Thank you

There is no direct flight or train between the two cities. I think you have to transfer at Beijing. You have to take a tour package to travel Lhasa and apply for a Tibet Travel Permit the the travel company who organize the tour, but you can travel Hohhot yourself just with a valid China visa.
